Materia Prima was the starting point for the 2014 Amberif Design Awards competition. This necklace is inspired by the Baltic tradition of drinking amber tea. The bag attached to the silver tree branch contains natural amber chips and gold leaf. When the silk bag is suspended into hot water it allows the amber acids to infuse the water. Drinking water infused with amber acids is believed to provide healing qualities both physical and mental from strengthening the immune system to stress relief. Additionally gold is believed to help conduct energy in the body and ease tension. This piece was selected for publication in the Amberif 2014 Fair Catalogue and for exhibition in Gdansk.
